Waxwing News & Reviews
- We will be hosting a Spring Tasting Series at the San Carlos winery, 3
to 5 pm, on the following Sunday afternoons: 5/20 and 6/24. The
pouring line-up will include our recent releases plus wine from
barrel. The winery is at 1001 Washington St., San Carlos, CA.
- Here's a cool review of our 2010 Syrah from the Wine Enthusiast
(July, 2012 Issue): The aromas of black pepper and grilled meat
immediately pinpoint this as a cool-climate Syrah, and quite a good
one. It's dry, rich and smoothly tannic, with blackberry, blueberry,
bacon and smoky cedar flavors. While it's easy to drink now, this
should hold over the next six years. -S.H. (90 points)
- Our Fall Tasting Party is tentatively scheduled for Saturday,
November 10th (1 to 4 pm). Mark your calendars. This is
traditionally our biggest party of the year and we are already trying
out new soup recipes!
