- Monthly Open House Wine Tastings continue this spring. Join us at
one of these events. The winery is located at 1001 Washington
Street, San Carlos, CA 94070. The tastings are complimentary and
children are welcome with your close supervision. Current schedule:

Saturday, June 15, 2 to 4 pm: Futures Showcase & Barrel Tasting

- And a great review of our 2010 Syrah from the Wine Enthusiast
(July, 2012 Issue): The aromas of black pepper and grilled meat
immediately pinpoint this as a cool-climate Syrah, and quite a good
one. It's dry, rich and smoothly tannic, with blackberry, blueberry,
bacon and smoky cedar flavors. While it's easy to drink now, this
should hold over the next six years. -S.H. (90 points)
- Waxwing's 2011 Pinot Noir is now on the wine list at Piacere in San
Carlos! Piacere is our favorite restaurant on Laurel Street's
flourishing dining scene and a great match for Waxwing.
- The PinotReport critiqued our 2010 Pinot Noir, Spring Hill Vineyard,
Sonoma Coast: Medium ruby color; ripe cherry aromas with herbs
and rhubarb notes; rich, ripe stewed cherry flavors with earthy and
herbal notes; silky texture; good structure and balance; long finish.
Silky, rich Pinot with interesting herbal notes. -G.W. (92 points
and "Smart Buy"). We are out of this wine at the winery but you
can still find it at Willows Market in Menlo Park and St. Michael's
Alley in Palo Alto.
